Pipe and pipeline re-use

Pipe and pipeline re-use
0remaining days

Pipes and pipelines are asset designed for Oil and Gas transport and for a targeted lifetime. The re-use of pipes or pipelines is raised either to extend the lifetime of existing assets or to make possible new usage linked to Energy transition, such as CO2 or H2 transportation.

Our expectations

We are looking for solutions and/or technologies to make sustainable and economically viable the reuse of pipelines and pipes:

  • Mobile solutions to identify steel and pipe condition
  • Mobile solutions for pipe decontamination
  • Retrofit solution (repair, lining, coating…) allowing extending the lifetime or new usage of the asset
  • Innovative applications of pipes in their 2nd life

The technologies targeted are:

  • new non-destructive inspections, with robotics or drones
  • innovative pipe retrofit technologies

  • The submitted solutions must be compatible with seamless steel pipes or pipelines (OCTG casings and tubing, pipes for line-pipe applications -risers, flowlines-, seamless steel pipes and profiles for industrial applications)
  • The submitted solution must withstand the specific environmental conditions of the applications and operations it is designed for.
  • Total cost of the solution (including the cost of implementation of the pipes and the cost of on-site installation if any) is a major criterion.
  • Prototypes of the solution shall be fabricated for tests in a representative environment within 18 months.
